Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is an Mexican American sportscaster. Her current role is an ESPN sportscaster. ESPN and is an anchor of SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. She was hired by ESPN in 2016. She is the daughter television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is a native speaker of two languages. Since she was nine, Collins's ability to communicate in two languages led to her obtaining the job she wanted in Miami as a production assistant at Univision. In this role she was able to collaborate with national program producers, such as Nuestra Belleza Latina. Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. In St. Petersburg, she was hired to the CBS station as a sports journalist. In 2009 she moved into Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become an anchor for the newscast of KNVO TV 48 Univision. Anchor duties on sports and weather was also frequently requested. She was then anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. The station then gave her greater responsibilities. She wrote on The NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason games, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. The Univision 23 channel also produced her local sports show Accion Deportiva Extra, on where she was anchor. She was hired as anchor of the sports program for Despierta America Deportes for their morning program. In addition, she served as anchor of the sports segment on Primer Impacto, a magazine program on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins' grandparents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. Then, they moved to Mexico City and she was born on the 22nd of November, 1985. There is a sister. In 1992 the family left Mexico to the US and settled in Miami. Her parents divorced soon after and in 1995 her mother got married to an architect from the naval profession known as Fabio Fajardo who died of kidney cancer in 2006. When on vacation, Antonietta stayed at the home of her sister in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins brother had recently been offered a new job. At the time of her senior year in high school but knowing exactly what she wanted to do for her life, Antonietta was able to visit at the University of Mount Union to determine if the school was suitable for her needs. The result was that she was a fan of the campus as well as the fact that it offered the major she wanted. Her studies were completed and she was admitted to the university with a degree in media studies. She developed a long-lasting relationship with her professor Mark Bergmann who was the manager of WRMU 91.1 FM, a station of which she was an affiliate. The professor encouraged her to be confident and was greatly moved by his love of journalism.
